Where is your ski-school?
Our Schi- and Snowboardschule "Sport am Jet" and INTERSPORT SPORT AM JET is located right across the cable railway "Achter Jet" in Flachau. In Flachau there are three descents and we are right in the middle at the yellow „Achter Jet“ at the floodlit descent. We are the only ski-school in Flachau with the penguin "BOBO" on the roof! Exit Flachau at the roundabout the third exit in the direction of the centre and about 800 meters at the traffic light go right in the direction of the “Achter Jet”. Then look for the penguin BOBO!
When does the ski- or snowboardcourse start? The ski- and snowboard courses always start at 10 am, except the two-hours courses in the afternoon – these start at 1pm. Private lessons start at 10 am or they take place from 1 to 3 pm.
What about lunch? You have the possibility of “supervised lunch” for your kids from about 12:00 to 13:00. All kids get at yellow chip when they are signed in for their courses; this chip is given to the instructor at lunch. The yellow chip costs EURO 10,- and you get: supervision, lunch and drink – it is „all you can eat“. Kids usually get smaller portions since they often cannot finish it all, but they may have a second helping.
When does the course end?
Children´s and adults´courses are from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 15:00 hrs. Advanced adults have class from 10:00 to 12:30 hrs.
Where is the meeting-point? Beginners meet the first day in front of the schi-school´s mainbuilding, i. e. across the „Achter Jet“. The second or third day depending on what the instructor tells them on the mountain´s bunny slope with the big penguin BOBO. (Top station „Achter Jet“) Advanced usually meet there already the first day.
I do not ski – can I leave my child with you in the morning? Of course you may bring your child to our office – be at the ski-school at the latest(!) at 9.20 am. One of our instructors brings the child every morning to the course. You also may come to get your child at the ski-school at about 3.20 pm in our office.
How many people are in the group?
With children´s courses max 12 (by law). In high season there are usually 10 – 12, in low season less. It is usually more fun for the children, if there are more children in the group.
Is the lift-ticket or the equipment included in the children´s course? For children up to the 7th birthday the lift-ticket is included! For children up to the 6th birthday the equipment is included!
Are there Dutch speaking instructors? Of course we do have Dutch instructors. Especially in February we have many Dutch guests and do have Dutch speaking instructors. It is very rare that we have mixed groups, though if there is no other way it could be for example five German speaking kids and five Dutch speaking kids in one group. Usually this works out fine and the kids like it.
Howis the area for beginners? (Ski-resort) The ski-resort Flachau is really huge and provides spacious slopes and therefore perfectly finde for beginners. Flachau is absolutely secure from avalanches.
Are there spezial children´s events after the course? Monday we offer “fly balloons”. All kids take the “BOBO-Express and fly balloons. Tudesday we offer the magician´s show with Magic Moritz at 4.30 pm in the restaurant “Jagdhof”. Thursday is the BOBO-raceand the presentation ceremony is at 4.30 in the restaurant “Jagdhof”.
Is there a race offered too? Thursday we have the BOBO race. Start is at about 10.30 am. Presentation ceremony is at 4.30 pm in the restaurant “Jagdhof”. All kids get a medal, a certificate, a Bobo-diploma and the winner gets a cup.
Can we also buy a picture-album? Snap-shots will be taken during the course. The pictures are available for EUR 8.- on a CD (in the schi-school´s office). Usually there are about 50 to 80 pictures on a CD.
Are there family-packages availabe at rental/schi-school?
Children up to 10 years get the equipment for free – if both parents rent the equipment!
